Yesterday I had a meeting in Wichita. Garmin has a few small planes that they use for relatively close business trips, so we flew there and back. I was a little apprehensive about flying (I've read online not to do it in unpressurized planes), but I called the doctor and talked to some other women and the doctor said that there would be no problems and none of the other women had heard not to do it. So, I went for it. The weather was a little rough, but being from KS and flying from Gardner to Wichita many times, it wasn't the worst I'd seen. I usually don't have any problems, but the doctor did mention that you're more likely to get motion sickness while pregnant, so I took all kinds of precautions...I wore my Sea Bands, brought along flat Sprite and some crackers to snack on. I felt a little nauseous at times, but it ended up not being too bad and the meeting was really productive.
So you may be wondering why the "Grrr!!!" title...well as we were taxiing at the airport on our way home I checked my phone for messages. I had one from my OB's office -- he had an emergency surgery scheduled for Monday and they need me to call them to cancel and reschedule my appointment! Yes, this is my 2nd appointment and the 2nd time I've been called the day before to be told that it would need to be rescheduled! Last time his back-up filled in and we didn't have to reschedule. Since we were getting ready to take off (i.e., cell phones off) I didn't get a chance to call them back. So now I will have to call first thing on Monday. I'm pretty frustrated! Maybe I wouldn't have been so frustrated if they would have said that I could call and reschedule or Dr. so-and-so could see me instead. At this point I don't really care who I see as long as they are nice and willing to answer my questions, but I really want another appointment soon and don't want to have to keep waiting! So that's my grr! Thanks for listening!

Word is Out at Garmin
Today I decided to start spreading the word at work. I had already told a couple of my girlfriends and also my boss, but no one else. Working with a large majority male workforce I was a little apprehensive for some reason, but I shouldn't have been. The guys that I told were so excited for me. It was really fun! I guess I don't really know what I was expecting, but I think I imagined it more to be, "cool" and then "let's get back onto this work topic." Nope they all asked me how I was doing and told me how exciting it is and then gave me all kinds of advice. A pleasant surprise!
