I'm a Week Old!

Yesterday was Jenna's one week birthday! She celebrated by wearing shoes for the first time (thanks Gram!), looking at big sis Portia's pretty black and white markings, and taking her first ride in the swing. :)

One Week Check-up

Yesterday Jenna had her one week check-up. It went great! She's just one ounce shy of her birth weight and the doctor said that she's doing great developmentally. He told us that since she's usually sleeping when we wake her for feedings (every 3 hours) that we can start extending the time between feedings to 4 hours. We tried it last night and it went great. We've been so lucky that she's taken so well to a schedule. We'll go back to the doctor for her one month check-up on January 6th.
After her appointment we decided to take our first outing. I needed to drop some paperwork by my OB's, so we stopped by there, then went to Target. It went well, especially considering that we were dangerously close to feeding time.

Almost a Week!

It is hard to believe that a week ago we were at the hospital and I was in labor with Jenna! On one hand it seems like I can't remember my life without her, but on the other it does not seem like she's been here for almost a week.
Since we've been home, we've been very busy, but each day it seems like we have gotten more of a routine down. Last night we had a great night and Jenna slept when she was supposed to and nursed quickly and then went right back to sleep. I'm not going to bank on many nights going like that, but it was so nice to get one!
Today she had her first bath. She doesn't care for being a naked baby, so we didn't have high hopes that it would go well. But, we shouldn't have worried, she did fine. She was a bit fussy at first, but we kept the washcloth warm and she stayed content. Here's her just before we started the bath.
She got exhausted and zonked out right after we were done!
