Vacation!
I didn't think we'd take a vacation this year, especially since last year we took the trip of a lifetime to Australia, but Aaron has a training session in New York next month and we decided to turn it into a short vacation. He'll be in his training session on Monday (8/18) through Thursday and I'm going to fly out and meet him Thursday evening and we'll stay through the next Tuesday. I think we'll spend a couple nights in the city and then get a car and take a road trip somewhere, maybe to Cape Cod for a day or two. The itenerary is still up in the air. It will be interesting being there in August and being 28 weeks pregnant, but my doctor said that I could go and it shouldn't be a problem as long as I pay attention to my body and stay hydrated. I think I can manage both, plus I'm sure Aaron will be keeping a close watch.
Aaron's flight is booked through work and I got my flight booked today, so now we're just looking for a hotel room. It is daunting, so if anyone has a suggestion, let me know.

Hope the two of you (and Little Miss Cain, too!) have a wonderful time. Just think, a few weeks after you get home from New York we will be home from Perth!

Necia & I did the same thing a few years ago when I was getting training and we stayed at the Millenium Hotel which is across the street from ground zero and was an excellent view of the city. I think we paid around $190 a night but it was well worth it.
A cab ride to LaGuardia was about $30 or so each way and it really was pretty easy to get around on the subway system. We bought some metro cards that were good for like two or three days and let you ride the subway or a water taxi as much as you want. We saved some money there.
